Comparing Knowledge Management Programs - Gail McGuckin

In this session we will compare 2 knowledge programs - an Australian law firm and a Federal Government Agency.  Gail will share with you some of her experiences, insights and reflections on the implementation of KM programs between these two very different organisation.

Gail McGuckin is a Senior Global Advisor for the Global Practice team at Austrade. Gail is responsible for partnering with the business to develop knowledge and information resources that build the capacity of groups within Austrade to deliver services to clients and investors. Gail's focus is to drive the successful adoption of collaborative tools to support Austraders to share information and knowledge more effectively across the Austrade global network. Prior to joining Austrade, Gail worked as a Knowledge Consultant with the client-focussed divisions of leading law firm Minter Ellison to evolve new work practices that positively impacted productivity, quality, risk management and client intimacy.

Using Expertise Global Research Project - Matt Moore

Patrick Lambe & Edgar Tan (Straits Knowledge) and Matt Moore (Innotecture) have spent the last 18 months researching how organisations try, succeed or sometimes fail to get the best out of the experience and expertise of the people that work for them. Matt will be discussing some of the initial findings of the research. Further background on the project is available on the Using Expertise blog & wiki.

Matt Moore has worked for PwC, IBM, Oracle and ASIC doing knowledge management, community development and corporate communications. He is now a director of Innotecture, chairs the New South Wales Knowledge Management Forum and sometimes teaches at UTS. He has just completed his first book which is called "Performance Enhancing".
